Operational History
The aircraft 5A-DKL was one of the few An-124s exported for international use and operated by Libyan Air Cargo, a division of Libyan Arab Airlines. This aircraft was active in the 1990s and early 2000s, flying across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, primarily for cargo transport missions.
Due to geopolitical changes and international sanctions, the aircraft was eventually grounded and has not been in operation for many years. It remains a rare and historically significant example of the An-124’s global use outside Ukraine.
