History of the An-225 "Mriya" and the "Buran" Shuttle:
The An-225 "Mriya" was developed by the Kyiv Antonov Design Bureau in the 1980s specifically to transport the "Buran" space shuttle and components of the "Energia" rocket program. The aircraft made its first flight on December 21, 1988. The cooperation between the An-225 and "Buran" symbolizes an era of great achievements in aviation and space exploration. Unfortunately, in February 2022, during the military conflict in Ukraine, the only existing An-225 was destroyed.
