Historical Background:
The Antonov An-12BK with registration UR-KDM, serial number 02348107, was manufactured in April 1972. Initially serving in the Soviet Air Force, it later operated under various entities, including the Kyrgyz Air Force and Aero-Fret Business. On February 26, 2014, it was registered with Meridian (Ukraine), and subsequently, on June 19, 2015, it joined the fleet of Cavok Air, a Ukrainian cargo airline based in Kyiv .
In August 2018, while operating in Gao, Mali, UR-KDM experienced a nose gear collapse during landing. The aircraft remained grounded for several months before being repaired and returned to service .
As of April 2025, Cavok Air operates a fleet of Antonov An-12 aircraft, with UR-KDM being one of the units stored at Bila Tserkva airfield near Kyiv, undergoing maintenance to potentially replace another aircraft in the fleet .
